11 Important Books on Racial Justice

Happy MLK Day!
Today is the day we look back on the freedoms that Martin Luther King Jr. fought for and celebrate his courage and the progress that was made because of it.
Racial justice is still very much a topic of conversation, especially in the last few years with the creation of the Black Lives Matter movement.
There is much to be considered when we think about racial justice (and social justice) today. I’ve read many books on it and these are the books I believe are the most important.
They are not the mainstream books like White Fragility or How to Be an Antiracist.
They don’t deny racism, but they do not necessarily play into the mainstream narrative that racism is everywhere, all the time.
They are intelligent, compelling, and oh so important.
They ask hard questions. They counter the popular narrative with more than just opinions. They challenge our ways of thinking and promote clarity and charity.
You won’t hear much about these books in the media, but they will broaden your perspective and give you a fuller picture of all of what racial justice means today.
